Trying to decide if you should get an epidural? Are you wondering how to cope with morning sickness? We know you have questions. That’s why we’ve put together information on some of the most common questions new and expecting parents have. 

Questions about Birthways

Q: Where do I go if my baby decides to come in the middle of the night?
A: After 9pm, enter the hospital through the Emergency Department.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Please take advantage of our free valet parking available Monday-Friday from 6am to 8:30pm. If you do come through the Emergency Department, please move your vehicle to the ramp as soon as possible.

Q: Should I call before I come?
A: We suggest calling your provider during office hours, or First Nurse after office hours before coming to the hospital. First Nurse is available 24/7 and can be reached toll-free by calling 1-800-524-6877, or locally at 515-239-6877.

Q: Can I use my cell phone on the Birthways floor?
A: Yes, cell phones are permitted on Birthways. A phone is also provided in your room. You can make local calls at no charge. Long distance calls may be made using a calling card or by calling collect.
