The William R. Bliss Cancer Center has been granted a three-year full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). The Bliss Cancer Center first earned Breast Center designation in 2016.
NAPBC accreditation recognizes the Bliss Cancer Center’s commitment to offer patients every significant advantage in the fight against breast cancer. The Bliss Cancer Center is a service of Mary Greeley Medical Center and McFarland Clinic.
Receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center, ensures that a patient will have access to:
- Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services
- A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
- Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
- Quality breast care close to home
Commission on Cancer
The Bliss Cancer Center also earned reaccreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC).
CoC-accredited programs are recognized for providing high-quality care, including diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship services, covering over 74 percent of newly diagnosed cancer patients.
Through the CoC accreditation, the Bliss Cancer Center has also been designated as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner for maintaining the highest standards in surgical care.
40 Years of Service
The reaccreditations come at a special time for the Bliss Cancer Center, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The center opened in November 1986 and was officially dedicated in January 1987. The invitation to that dedication promised “a new era of excellence in cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.” Four decades later, that promise has proven true as the Bliss Cancer Center has grown into a vital regional resource for cancer patients and their families.
