Supporting Cancer Program is Personal for Chasey Family

Deery of Ames Holds Annual Fundraiser in Support of Navigator Program

As a local business owner, Mark Chasey and his wife Michelle, are committed to supporting causes that improve the lives of those in the community. At the top of their list is contributing to the William R. Bliss Cancer Center in support of the Navigator program.

Annually, Chasey’s Deery of Ames Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM dealership contributes $20 from the sale of each automobile to the Mary Greeley Foundation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Over the last six years, they have contributed more than $15,000 to help patients with cancer navigate their journey.

“Michelle’s family has a history with breast cancer. Both her mother and grandmother are survivors,” Mark says. “We’ve gone through a lot over the years and cancer has been a part of our life. Being able to give back like this is meaningful for us. We want to give at the local level to help those living with cancer in our community. These are the people who support us and our business.”

The Navigator program at the William R. Bliss Cancer Center provides a variety of support and care coordination services at no cost to patients with cancer.

The October fundraiser for the William R. Bliss Cancer Center is one of a handful Mark and the team at Deery of Ames holds each year.

“It gives us a great feeling that we can have a positive impact on the quality of life here locally,” Mark says. “We started here in 2012 from ground zero. We built it up with the support of our community and Michelle and I feel strongly that it is important for us to give back.”

Private gifts—like those from Deery of Ames—to the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation fund the services of the Cancer Resource Center and ensure that services like the Navigator program are provided at no cost to patients with cancer.
