Israel Family Hospice House

Mary Greeley Medical Center’s Hospice program provides a range of high-quality services for patients, including end-of-life care, respite care, and bereavement counseling. Mary Greeley Home Hospice provides services in a six-county central Iowa region, and we have seen a growth in this program in terms of the number of patients we serve. Conversely, we have seen a decline in the number of patients served at Israel Family Hospice House. Due to this, and other factors, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Israel Family Hospice House, effective Dec. 31, 2025. This decision was approved by our Board of Trustees, on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025.

Hospice services are supported by gifts to the Mary Greeley Foundation.

Recognition Plaques and Garden Bricks

We are deeply grateful to the many families who have honored their loved ones at the Israel Family Hospice House over the past 26 years through memorial bricks in our garden and recognition plaques throughout the building. We know how meaningful these tributes are.

With the hospice house closing on December 31, we are currently working through the details and timing of how best to handle these memorials. Winter conditions may affect what is possible in the short term, but we are committed to approaching this thoughtfully.
