Amy Dagestad Named Chief Nursing Officer at Mary Greeley Medical Center
AMES, IA – Amy Dagestad has been named Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Mary Greeley Medical Center effective Sept. 7.
“Amy has an outstanding history with Mary Greeley. She’s a strong, nationally recognized leader who is committed to safe, quality care for our patients,” said Amber Deardorff, president and CEO of Mary Greeley.
Dagestad, MBA, MSN, RNC-OB, joined Mary Greeley in 2015 as director of Maternal Child Services. In 2023, she was appointed Executive Director of Inpatient Services. As director of Maternal Child Service, Dagestad played a central role in the development of a new, advanced Birthways obstetrics unit at Mary Greeley.
As CNO, Amy will oversee a range of inpatient and outpatient nursing services, including acute rehab, behavioral health, cancer services, diabetic and nutrition education, dialysis services, intensive care, maternal child services, medical surgical, medical telemetry, nursing professional practice, pharmacy, and surgical services.
She is active with the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), and was named an Emerging Leader by the organization in 2019. She also received the Mary Greeley Innovation and Excellence Leadership Award in 2019.
Dagestad earned her BSN and MSN in nursing leadership from Allen College in Waterloo, and her MBA from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining Mary Greeley, she worked in maternity services at UnityPoint Health Des Moines.
