Preventative Care

Our preventive care services include:

  • Community education. This includes our Prime Time Alive programming and Speaking of Health evening education series.
  • Osteoporosis management. Our healthcare professionals can help you determine if you are at risk of osteoporosis and help you develop a lifestyle plan that reduces your risk of injury. For our "Guide to Osteoporosis Management," click here.
  • Fall risk assessment. It is estimated that 30 percent of people over the age of 65 fall each year, often resulting in injury. Our staff is trained to recognize the risks for falling and will assess patients for balance, disorientation, strength, gait, coordination, medications, in-home activities, home layout and other factors. After assessment, our staff will develop an individualized prevention program, which may involve a referral to a specialty therapist, physical exercises or changes in the home environment. For our "Finding the Perfect Balance" brochure, click here.
  • Home Safe Home. Specially trained Rehab & Wellness occupational and physical therapists can do a thorough safety assessment of your home. They evaluate each room for access, lighting and safe movement. For more information or to schedule an in-home evaluation call 515-239-6770.
