Homemade Soup Well Worth the Effort

Nothing makes you warm up more on the inside when it's cold outside than a steaming bowl of homemade soup.  Many people think soup is too labor intensive to be made from scratch, so they reach for a can.  However, the 10 or 15 minutes of additional prep time needed for homemade soup is well worth the difference in flavor, and you can freeze the leftovers for a quick, convenient meal another day.  Served with crackers or a slice of bread, soup can be a complete meal.  When you have the time, try serving with cornbread or warm muffins and some fruit for desert.
