Maternity Clothes for Multiple Mom’s

Twin A

Wendt Twin A Waving "Hello"

Oh baby, Oh baby!  We had our 30 week check up this week. Being pregnant with multiples, we have had an ultrasound before each Dr.’s appointment, which is fun. It’s amazing to see how far they have come since that jaw dropping day, October 14th, 2015 to be exact, when we found out that we were expecting twins. They were just little specs on a screen that day. Now we can see two babies. Arms, legs, heads, hearts beating and hands tucked by their faces. This is getting real.

Over the last month, I hear almost daily, “I think you’ve grown!” In fact, there are days where I think to myself, “My belly is bigger than it was 15 minutes ago.” Which is a good thing, right? That means both girls are growing well. This week’s ultrasound proved they in fact, are growing!

Baby A. weighed 1 pound 12 ounces in January. She is now up to 3 pounds 5 ounces.
Baby B. weighed 1 pound 13 ounces in January. She has grown to 3 pounds 6 ounces.

That’s a lot of babies! Both are growing well! The fact they are so close in size is pretty amazing, but a good thing. Both babies are head down, not that it matters since we will be having a cesarean section birth. Baby A was face in this week so we couldn’t get a picture of her face. Baby B cooperated more and we were able to get better looks at her face.

Dr. Lines has told me a couple times now, “You are on track to have 14 pounds of babies!” I’m pretty sure she is in disbelieve, or she has sympathy for me. I give a nervous laugh, as I think “How will I stay upright? How will I have anything to wear?” This is my newest question. Luckily, I haven’t really gained weight anywhere other than in my mid-section. Most of my clothes fit well. Back in November, I bought a couple maternity sweaters a size larger than I normally would buy. They were huge. Ryan told me they looked like tents on me. Now, they fit. If they start getting too small, I may be in trouble. Do you think I can get away with wearing sweatpants to work? I refuse to wear a dress, or even worse, a moomoo. Is this a normal Twin pregnancy concern? Is there a clothing manufacturer designing clothes for moms pregnant with multiples? If not, how do we patent this idea?Maybe I’ll add clothing designer to my resume.

In less than 2 months, the Wendt Babies will be here! It’s hard to believe we’re close to meeting our newest gals. We’re so in love, already.
