Baby Apocalypse

About 3 weeks after we found out we were expecting, we heard from our good friends, Shane & Sheri Meredith from Omaha, that they were expecting, and twins! They are due about two weeks before us.

Shane and Sheri's Birth Announcement

Ryan and I were overwhelmed with joy for them, as they have been trying for a few years, and had to embark on a different journey then we have experienced. In October 2014, they began fertility treatments. They tried intrauterine insemination (IUI) treatments 5 times with different dosages. This did not work. I can only imagine the disappointment they experienced each time. In the end of June 2015, they started In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). I can’t begin to say I understand the journey they’ve experienced. From a friend stand point, you just hope they know you’re there to listen. This is a common and costly experience many couples face. But, I guarantee they will find that no matter what they went through emotional, physically and financially, the end result is priceless!

My first reaction was, “I’m so happy for them!” and Ryan and I talked about how happy we are that they finally have success, what a great Mom Sheri will be, and that we can’t wait to see Shane be a dad, especially if they have a girl(s). The next thought I had was, "Thank Goodness it’s them, not us!”
