Providing a safe, comfortable environment where you can recover from surgery is the goal of the Mary Greeley Medical Center Surgical Unit.
In the unit, you will recover from surgery and receive any post-surgical therapy, if needed.
The unit includes 43 private rooms, staffed by registered nurses skilled in acute care, including pain management, wound care and the prevention of post-operative complications. Nurses will spend time with you and your family, answering questions and teaching about your surgery and what to expect as you recover.
Our staff uses a team approach, coordinating with physical therapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, social workers and other specialists as needed. Before you are discharged - usually after about four days - our staff makes sure you have everything needed for a full recovery. This may involve coordinating with HOMEWARD Home Medical Equipment, HOMEWARD Home Health Services and other healthcare professionals.
