Skilled Nursing Unit
Skilled Nursing at Mary Greeley Medical Center provides daily nursing care and rehabilitative services for patients who no longer need acute care hospitalization. Our goal is restoring each patient's independence as much as possible.
To receive Skilled Nursing care, a patient must need at least one service, such as rehabilitative therapy, and have been hospitalized for at least three consecutive days at Mary Greeley Medical Center within the last 30 days. Most patients in this unit arrive directly from our medical/surgical units and stay an average of one week.
A team of medical professionals help patients regain their health, strength and endurance. This team includes physicians, nurses, social workers, dieticians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, therapeutic recreation specialists, speech-language pathologists, respiratory therapists, chaplains and others as needed.
Skilled Nursing has 11 private rooms, allowing for a high level of intensive, individualized care. The unit also has its own dining room, activity room and planned recreational activities. Bedside meals are available for those unable to leave their rooms.
Family members are welcome to participate in the patient's daily care and learn about their loved one's needs so they can be of assistance when the patient returns home.
