Pink Glove Dance

Thank you for helping us raise breast cancer awareness and making our Pink Glove Dance video a big winner!

We are thrilled to announce that our video won third place in the nation-wide Pink Glove Dance Competition, earning $5,000 for the American Cancer Society! We could not have done it without our employees, community members and inspirational cancer survivors who came together to help create a video that offers such a beautiful message of hope and bravery. THANK YOU!

The William R. Bliss Cancer Center, a service of Mary Greeley Medical Center and McFarland Clinic, and the Iowa State University Thielen Student Health Center teamed up to create a Pink Glove Dance video. The video, which is part of a national effort to raise breast cancer awareness, features hospital and clinic staff, a cancer patient, community members, the Ames High School cheerleaders, and Iowa State students, including members of the Cyclone football team.

The contest winner was determined by the number of votes it received online. Our video received 32,825 votes!

For winning third place, we receive a $5,000 prize to be donated to the breast cancer charity of our choice. We selected the American Cancer Society, which is currently funding 11 research grants in Iowa alone to find cancer cures.

Watch the video from our announcement celebration, where the $5,000 prize was presented to the American Cancer Society.

MedLine, a company that manufactures surgical gloves, sponsors the Pink Glove Dance every year and hospitals across the country take part. Hospitals are asked not only to showcase their facilities, but also their community.
