You may park your car free of charge in the parking ramp located across the street south of the medical center. Parking is available in the surface lots west of the medical center.
Complimentary Valet Parking
Mary Greeley Medical Center offers free valet parking. Please turn into the loop driveway and wait for a valet service attendant to greet you.
A valet service attendant will accept your keys, record identifying information and park your car. When you're ready to leave, the valet will return your car to you at the front door.
If you do not pick up your car before 8:30 p.m., you may go to the Emergency Department Admitting Desk to retrieve your keys and learn the location of your car.
We politely request that you not tip our valets.
Mary Greeley Construction Brings Parking Changes
Mary Greeley Medical Center will provide around-the-clock valet parking at its Emergency Department entrance beginning Monday, Aug. 4.
This service is being provided while the Emergency Department parking lot is closed during the next phase of the hospital’s $130 million building project.
This phase will involve construction of a new main entrance, a skywalk from the parking ramp to the hospital and expansion of the Emergency Department. During this phase, Mary Greeley’s west entrance will serve at the primary entrance to the medical center.
The work will mean several changes to how motorists and pedestrians navigate the hospital campus. These changes will go into effect early September, and are expected to be in place until spring 2015.
Entrance to the campus and the hospital’s parking ramp will be via Duff Avenue or Kellogg Avenue. There will be signage to direct traffic.
Motorist will exit the campus via Kellogg Avenue only. Barricades will direct the flow of traffic north toward 13th Street. In response to requests from neighbors, the west entrance to 12th Street off Kellogg will be blocked.
The city of Ames has installed a temporary traffic light at the intersection of Kellogg and 13th Street to help safely regulate traffic flow.
There also will be a pedestrian path through the parking ramp for people who need to reach the hospital from the Medical Arts Building.
Vehicles entering via Duff Avenue:
Vehicles parking in the ramp will enter the ramp’s east entrance and go to the left to park on one of the levels.
Vehicles needing valet parking will enter the east ramp entrance, proceed through the first level of the ramp, and exit the ramp’s west exit to the circle drive at the west entrance of the hospital. View map.
Vehicles entering via Kellogg Avenue:
Vehicles parking in the ramp will turn left off Kellogg onto 11th Street and enter the ramp’s west entrance. (NOTE: This west entrance is a new entrance being created in the ramp.)
Vehicles needing valet will turn left off Kellogg onto 11th Street and proceed to circle drive of hospital’s west entrance. View map.
Exiting the ramp:
Vehicles that have parked in the ramp will leave from the ramp’s west exit, turn left onto 11th Street and then turn right onto Kellogg Avenue.
People leaving from valet will exit the circle drive onto 11th Street, and then proceed to Kellogg.
