AMES, IA – This is going to be a total gas.

The Rollin’ Colon is coming to Ames!

Rollin Colon

The "Rollin' Colon" will be at Mary Greeley
Medical Center March 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The 20-foot-long, 14-foot-high inflatable colon will be at Mary Greeley Medical Center on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free family event will be in the hospital’s South Auditorium.

People who walk through the Rollin’ Colon will see what normal colon tissue looks like, as well as signs of diseases of the large intestine, colon polyps and colorectal cancer.

This popular and informative attraction encourages people to learn more about colon health, as well as the importance of anyone 50 or older getting a colorectal screening. Health experts will be on hand to answer questions. There will also be information available about colon health.

The Rollin’ Colon is sponsored by the William R. Bliss Cancer Resource Center and the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation. For more information, call Mary Greeley Medical Center’s Community Relations office at 515-239-2038.
