“Greater Iowa is extremely proud to be a part of the Extraordinary Visions campaign to enhance the facilities and services of Mary Greeley Medical Center,” said Scott Zahnle, president and CEO of Greater Iowa Credit Union. “We believe—and by we, I mean our members, employees and volunteer board of directors—that a strong Mary Greeley Medical Center benefits us all. Our gift is our way of saying we believe strongly in what you do.”
The Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation launched the Extraordinary Visions campaign in September 2011. The $6 million campaign will support the medical center’s $129 million building project, the largest in the hospital’s history. To date, $5.5 million has been raised, including the gift from Greater Iowa Credit Union.
The Extraordinary Visions project includes a new six-story tower with larger patient rooms that will provide better healing environments and accommodate new technologies. Other features of the project include an expanded emergency department, a new main entrance with an enclosed skywalk, and a new power plant.
“We are extremely grateful to Greater Iowa Credit Union, its members and employees for their generosity,” said Brian Dieter, president and CEO of Mary Greeley Medical Center. “This gift demonstrates that Greater Iowa Credit Union is invested in the health of our communities, and their generosity will have an incredible impact for generations to come.”
Greater Iowa Credit Union has been a longtime supporter of Mary Greeley Medical Center. Previous gifts have supported the Israel Family Hospice House, the Diabetes and Nutrition Education Center and the William R. Bliss Cancer Center.
