Mary Greeley Medical Center Earns State Recognition for Quality
AMES, IA – Mary Greeley Medical Center has received a 2011 Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence (IRPE) Silver Award.
"Congratulations to Mary Greeley Medical Center for committing to an on-going journey of excellence," says Gary Nesteby, IRPE executive director.
Established in 2000, Iowa’s premier program for innovation and performance excellence recognizes Iowa organizations that have been identified as leaders that contribute to the economic development, health and competitiveness of the state. Each applicant organization goes through more than 1,200 hours of analysis by a volunteer team of trained examiners. The IRPE program presents awards to the organizations that demonstrate successful process-based results. The process is used by 36 states to support economic development, and is aligned with the Baldrige National Quality Program.
“Getting this recognition says a lot great things about Mary Greeley Medical Center, but what’s most important, is that going through this process ultimately impacts the quality of our patient care,” says Brian Dieter, president and CEO of Mary Greeley Medical Center. “It helps us identify our strengths and opportunities for improvement, while reinforcing our commitment to quality care.”
Mary Greeley Medical Center will be recognized at the Iowa Recognition of Performance Excellence Executive Council’s annual Celebration of Performance Excellence in May 2012.
The IRPE process, awards and examiner training are coordinated by the Iowa Quality Center, an independent nonprofit organization, based in Marion.
