William R. Bliss Cancer Center and American Cancer Society host Look Good... Feel Better® Training Program
AMES
, IA - The William R. Bliss Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society hosted a Look Good... Feel Better® training program for Central Iowa cosmetologists on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Nineteen cosmetologists attended the session, which was held at the William R. Bliss Cancer Center.
Look Good... Feel Better® is a free program that teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help them manage the appearance-related effects of cancer treatment. By taking control of how they look using cosmetics, wigs, scarves and accessories, women with cancer can improve their self-esteem, and thereby manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence.
The Look Good... Feel Better® program is open to all women living with cancer who are undergoing radiation, chemotherapy or other forms of treatments. The program currently meets the second Monday of each month at the Mary Greeley Medical Center Cancer Resource Center. For more information, contact the Cancer Resource Center at 515-956-6440 or 866-972-5477.
