Childhood Immunizations at Mary Greeley Medical Center

Ames , IA-Sheila Baker, C.P.N.P., M.S.N., A.R.N.P., pediatric nurse practitioner at Mary Greeley Medical Center, will present a program titled "Childhood Immunizations" at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, in Bessie Myers Auditorium at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Immunizations for infants, children and adults have changed many times in recent years and will change again in the near future. Keeping up with the new terminology-such as HPV, Hib, Comvax®, and rotavirus-can be difficult.

Baker will review several types of vaccines and their effects on the immune system, along with the Iowa Immunization Law for childcare and school attendance. She will also address the new vaccines available now and those that will become available in the near future.

Speaking of Health is an educational series offered by Mary Greeley Medical Center that is free and open to the public. Please preregister by calling 515-239-2038 or register online.
