Rehabilitation & Therapy

Whether it’s for a high school athlete recovering from an injury or a stroke patient relearning life skills, Mary Greeley Medical Center has a variety of rehabilitation and therapy programs available. These services are primarily offered through Acute Rehabilitation, which provide inpatient and intense rehabilitation, and Rehab & Wellness at Mary Greeley Medical Center, which provides outpatient services in Ames and Story City. Trained therapists and nurses provide these services, many of which are available in Ames and Story City. (Check with your insurance company to see if you need a referral.)

    • Physical Therapy

      Specialists in physical therapy services at Mary Greeley Medical Center help patients resume their normal work and recreational activities after an injury or surgery.

    • Occupational Therapy

      To help restore independence, occupational therapy address daily activity tasks such as dressing, eating, bathing and personal grooming.

    • Speech & Language Therapy

    • Inpatient Rehabilitation

      The inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Center, open 24 hours, provides nursing care services, physician supervision, and intervention to help patients regain as much function and independence as possible.

    • Neurological Rehabilitation

      Mary Greeley Medical Center Rehab & Wellness uses a multi-disciplinary team approach to treating many neurological patients.

    • Pediatric Rehabilitation

      The pediatric rehabilitation team at Mary Greeley Medical Center takes a multi-disciplinary approach to helping kids with physical or developmental challenges.

    • Massage Therapy

      Offered jointly through Mary Greeley Medical Center Rehab & Wellness in Ames and the Lifetime Fitness Center in Story City, massage therapy can help address a range of physical limitations; click to request an appointment.

    • Aquatic Therapy

      Our warm therapy pool offers relief to joints and allows you to participate in therapeutic exercise for improved strength, range of motion, posture and balance.
