Kidney Care Services

Your kidneys are blood-cleaning superstars, removing waste from the body, filtering toxins from the blood, and helping to regulate blood pressure and nutrient balance, including potassium and calcium.

Mary Greeley Medical Center and McFarland Clinic nephrologists offer kidney care and treatment, both surgical or non-surgical. In addition, patients who require hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis receive skilled care at Dialysis Centers of Central Iowa, a joint venture of Mary Greeley Medical Center and DaVita.

Urinary and Bladder Care Services

Some urinary and bladder care issues are quite common, and some are minor. But many serious urinary and bladder care issues present with the same sorts of symptoms, including painful urination. That’s why it’s key to seek skilled care for any problems—even if the treatment is fairly simple to diagnose and quick to treat.

In addition to traditional surgical and non-surgical methods, McFarland Clinic urologists use several modern approaches to treating urinary system difficulties, including:

  • Laser treatment for kidney stones
  • Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL, which uses highly focused impulses to pulverize kidney stones)
  • Minimally invasive prostate treatment, such as microwave therapy
