Description

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1)    Describe when to refer patients for evaluation by radiation oncologists with a lung tumor

2)    Describe non-oncologic conditions that may be treated with radiation such as gynecomastia, keloids, AVSm, vestibular schwannoma, meningioma, heterotopic ossification prophylaxis

3)    Describe uses for radiation in oncologic patients other than for cure or pain relief

Professional practice gap to be addressed: Improve appropriate referral patterns and consideration of appropriate patients for several radiation procedures that are not frequently offered the option.

Target audience: Physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, health care administrators
