Description

At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to:

1)    cite the causative organisms and describe the clinical manifestations of cervical lymphadenitis

2)    apply the appropriate methods for diagnosis and management

3)    predict the potential complications of cervical lymphadenitis and prevent these based on a current evidence-based   approach

Professional practice gap addressed: Providers are usually faced with difficult and challenging situations when caring for children and adolescents with cervical lymphadenitis. This talk will provide a practical approach to the most common etiologies for the appropriate diagnosis and management. The provider will feel more comfortable caring for these patients at the completion of the activity.

Overall goal: The provider will be able to use the acquired knowledge gained to impact practice and also to identify and help correct deficits.

Target audience: Physicians, mid-level providers, nurses
