A fitness program for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.

Description

Courage in Motion is your pathway to hope and health. It was designed with Michelle Flattery, a cancer survivor. In one-hour weekly meetings, Courage in Motion participants will share stories and exercise together. Exercise sessions include Pilates, aqua fitness, weights and yoga.

This 12-week program is available at no charge and allows you to utilize Ames Racquet and Fitness facilities while enrolled.

Use the registration link above to print out a brochure that has the necessary Physician Medical Clearance Form.

  • Childbirth Education One Day Class(First Saturday)

    An accelerated childbirth class for parents on the go. . Topics include: labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation tecniques, medications, epidurals, and medical procedures. This class does include a hospital Tour.

  • Safe Sitter Class - Aug. 4 & 5, 2014

    Safe Sitter® is a national, medically accurate babysitting training program taught by certified Safe Sitter®-trained instructors. The 2-day program is designed to prepare young adolescents for the responsibilities of babysitting.

  • Breastfeeding Class

    Information about what to expect during the beginning days of breastfeeding will be discussed to help make breastfeeding a positive experience. Current information on breast feeding will be presented.

  • 08/05/14 - Mallwalkers: My Healthy Plate

    Learn about managing portion sizes for healthy living. Make use of the “Plate Method” of meal planning to manage eating patterns at home and when eating out.

  • 08/05/14 - Women's Health Issues

    Women’s health/fitness to improve mobility & sense of well being. Katie Albrecht will discuss how to improve overall health.
