Overview of Bariatric Surgery: Surgical Weight Reduction is                         Safe and Effective

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1)    understand surgical anatomy of commonly performed bariatric surgery procedures

2)    understand the advantages and disadvantages of surgical weight reduction compared   to medical weight management

3)    recognize recent advances in the safety and effectiveness of bariatric surgery

Professional practice gap to be addressed: Physicians will be aware that successful weight reduction can ameliorate several obesity-related morbidities, including some new findings from novel research performed by the speaker and his group.

Target audience: Physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, health care administrators, medical students

    An accelerated childbirth class for parents on the go. . Topics include: labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation tecniques, medications, epidurals, and medical procedures. This class does include a hospital Tour.
