At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1)    understand the basic pathophysiology of newly available anticoagulant and reversal agents.

2)    understand when to provide patients with these medications.

3)    understand inherent risks and benefits on novel and new anticoagulant and reversal agents.

Professional practice gap to be addressed: Understanding the potential benefits of these new medications as well as risks and indications should improve clinical knowledge and patient outcomes.

Target audience: Physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, health care administrators
