Information about what to expect during the beginning days of breastfeeding will be discussed to help make breastfeeding a positive experience. Current information on breast feeding will be presented.

Description

Breastfeeding ClassThis is a two-hour single-session class to prepare you for a successful breastfeeding experience. Support persons are encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required. If possible, bring a doll. Suggested donation is $10.

Did you know that human milk contains at least one hundred ingredients not found in any artificial infant milk? Or that breastfeeding your baby decreases their chance of becoming overweight by 30%? Breastfeeding can also:

  • Reduce your baby’s risk for chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma
  • Provide better resistance to infections
  • Offer protection from SIDS
  • Allow for easier digestion and fewer allergies
  • Help you lose weight faster
  • Protect you from ovarian and breast cancer
  • Decrease your risk of osteoporosis

    A hernia is a bulge of intestine, another organ, or fat through the muscles of the belly. A hernia can occur when there is weakness in the muscle wall that allows part of an internal organ to push through. Hernias may be painful, especially when you cough, bend over, or lift something heavy. Hernias do not go away on their own and can only be repaired by surgery.     Information about what to expect during the beginning days of breastfeeding will be discussed to help make breastfeeding a positive experience. Current information on breast feeding will be presented.

  • Childbirth Education One Day Class (Saturday)

    An accelerated childbirth class for parents on the go. . Topics include: labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation tecniques, medications, epidurals, and medical procedures. A hospital tour is part of this class.

  • 4/23/14 - AARP Smart Driving

    This one-day presentation covers driver's safety. Learn about the normal changes of aging and the effects it may have on driving. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for all others (make checks payable to AARP) and may entitle participants to an insurance premium discount.
