Description

For parents-to-be, new parents and adoptive parents. A two-part class that will provide you with the latest in factual information and helpful hints for a joyful beginning with your baby.

 

Topics to be discussed:
                -        Normal newborn appearance
                -        The amazing abilities of newborns
                -        Issues and decisions new parents face
                -        Balancing employment and parenting
                -        How to choose baby's health care
                -        How to comfort a crying baby
                -        Keeping baby safe
                -        How to tell if baby is sick
                -        Breast feeding versus bottle feeding
                -        Community resources
                -        ...and much more

The February 12th class will meet in the West Conference Room located down the left hall from the registration desk in the main entrance of the hospital.

    This class is for siblings, age four and up, to prepare for the arrival of the new baby. (We recommend registering for this class one month before mom's due date.)

    This activity will help bridge the practice gap that some providers may have in regards to understanding some of the more recent GI guidelines that have been published.

    This class provides the attendee with an explanation of services provided at MGMC Birthways and a walking tour of our facility and the Birthways Unit.

  • Sibling Class (Big Brother/Big Sister) Age 2-4

    This class is for siblings, ages two to four years old, to prepare for the arrival of the new baby. (We recommend registering for this class one month before mom's due date.)

  • Childbirth Education One Day Class(First Saturday)

    An accelerated childbirth class for parents on the go. . Topics include: labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation tecniques, medications, epidurals, and medical procedures. This class does include a hospital Tour.
