Registration Details

Registration is not required.

Description

At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to:

1)    Define menopause, perimenopause and premature ovarian insufficiency

2)    Discuss common health issues in mature women

3)    Discuss risks and benefits of hormone therapy (HT)

Professional practice gap to be addressed: Recent medical literature concerning the use of HT has been confusing.  While HT has risks, it also has many benefits and knowledge regarding these is important in caring for mature women.  We can better care for this group of women as we understand the health issues of menopause.

Overall goal: Update on current recommendations for HT, knowledge in risks/benefits of HT, best practice in caring for mature women.

Target audience: Physicians, mid-level providers, nurses
