Description

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1)    Discuss the current screening guidelines for prostate cancer

2)    Be familiar with active surveillance protocols as well as various treatments for prostate cancer

3)    Counsel patients regarding state of the art surgical therapy

4)    Identify multiple radiation approaches in the management of prostate cancer

5)    Understand distinctions between external beam radiation, brachytherapy and unscaled sources

6)    Describe the different characteristics of high dose rate, low dose rate, particle therapy, ablative, and palliative   therapies

Overall goal: Improve physician awareness of the prevalence of prostate cancer, current screening guidelines and current treatment options.  Allow for more timely and appropriate referrals for radiation therapy.

Target audience: Physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, health care administrators

  • Childbirth Education One Day Class(First Saturday)

    An accelerated childbirth class for parents on the go. . Topics include: labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation tecniques, medications, epidurals, and medical procedures. This class does include a hospital Tour.
