Dr. Jeremy Fields, Gastroenterologist
Join Dr. Fields for a Q&A and a discussion on colonoscopies. Colonoscopy is a procedure that enables your physician to look inside your entire large intestine. The procedure is used to check for early signs of cancer in the colon and rectum and allows your physician to find and remove precancerous polyps before they can grow into cancer. It is also used to diagnose and evaluate other bowel problems such as colitis and diarrhea. Preparation involves a colon purge. The procedure is generally performed under sedation.
