Bone Marrow Donor Drive at Mary Greeley March 6-7
AMES, IA – A “Be the Match” bone marrow donor registry drive will be held March 6-7 at Mary Greeley Medical Center.
The drive will be in Mary Greeley’s South Auditorium from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 7.
Participants in the drive must been between the ages of 18 and 44, be willing to donate to any patient in need, and meet health guidelines. Anyone unable to attend the drive or anyone older than 45 can register online at www.bethematch.org. During March, please use the promo code MARYGREELEY2013.
At the drive, DNA samples will be collected through quick cheek swabs of each participant. The samples will be sent to the University of Iowa’s Marrow Donor Program.
Thousands of patients depend on the Be the Match Registry to find a bone marrow donor who can give them a second chance at life.
Financial contributions to the Be the Match will also be accepted during the drive.
