Lilly Oncology on CanvasAMES, IA – An inspiring exhibition of art created by cancer patients and people who care for them will be on display at the William R. Bliss Cancer Center at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

The Lilly Oncology On Canvas exhibit will run Oct. 9-19. The exhibit will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first and second floors of Mary Greeley Medical Center’s north addition. The free public exhibit, which is touring communities nationwide, showcases select pieces of art from the 2010 Lilly Oncology On Canvas competition. Themes explored in the collection range from fear and hope, loss and survival, isolation and the embrace of family and friends.

Launched in 2004, the Lilly Oncology On Canvas Art Competition and Exhibition invites people from the United States and Puerto Rico, who are diagnosed with any type of cancer, as well as their families, friends, caregivers and healthcare providers, to express, through art and narrative, the life-affirming changes that give their cancer journeys meaning. Art from the competition tours hospitals, cancer centers and cancer advocacy group events.

Lilly Oncology On Canvas is presented by Lilly Oncology in partnership with the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS).
